Our subsidiary, Houtsma Heat Treatment B.V., is ISPM 15 certified for heat treatment. This allows us to apply heat treatment to pallets when required by your industry, or for pallets and packaging materials intended for export outside the EU.
Heat Treatment
Heat treatment (HT) means that pallets are heated to a core temperature of 56°C.
This temperature is maintained for thirty minutes, with the entire process recorded in an official treatment diagram. The procedure is required to prevent the spread of harmful organisms, such as the pinewood nematode and the sirex wasp.
Houtsma Heat Treatment B.V. is one of the few certified companies in the Northern Netherlands authorised to carry out this process. Many of our pallets can be delivered directly with ISPM 15 certification — view the range.

Cross borders safely with certified pallets
For exports outside the EU, heat treatment in accordance with ISPM 15 is often mandatory. At Houtsma, we carry out this treatment in-house using our certified HT installation. That way, you’re guaranteed pallets that meet international standards and are ready for immediate transport.
